Treatment

of Hormonal Epidermal Pigmented Lesions

The MedLite® C6 Q-switched N-d Yag at 532 and 10534 nm is an ideal laser option for safe treatment of both epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions, as well as a great choice of treatment for age spots, freckles, solar lentigos, café-au-lait lesions, Melasma, Chloasma, and liver spots, efficiently and effectively making a dramatic difference in the quality of life for patients. Q-Switch laser in Melbourne is becoming increasingly popular for being non-invasive, with fewer side effects compared to other laser options for hormonal pigmentation.*

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How the Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser Works?

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser works by targeting specific pigment in the skin, which TARGETS the damaged skin cells in the treatment area.*

When it comes to laser tattoo removal, the Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser targets ink pigment and breaks it up into smaller particles through powerful bursts of energy. The ink is then absorbed into the bloodstream and eventually expelled from the body.*

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser utilizes two energy frequencies; 1064 nanometers, to target deeper skin layers, and 532 nanometers, to address hyperpigmentation and more superficial layers.

Is Q-Switched ND YAG Laser Safe?

1064 nm wavelength is a treatment of choice for darker skin patients, with fewer hyperpigmentation incidents and responses from both practitioners and patients, with fair-to-good improvement noted in most cases.* Mild, transient erythema, hypo-pigmentation, and hyper-pigmentation can be noted but can be resolved fairly quickly without any textural changes, scarring, or other side effects.*

In addition to Q-Switch laser treatment for pigmentation being very effective, the 1064 nm Q-switch YAG can also be chosen as a powerful toning, firming and skin revitalising treatment ( laser toning) on any part of the body with weekly or fortnightly session intervals.*

    Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser Side Effects

After the procedure, you may notice redness and swelling in the treatment area. Some patients may also experience very mild bleeding at the treatment site.

Aloe vera may be used on the skin after treatment, to soothe any discomfort. It is also important to cover up the area with gauze, to help the skin heal faster.

Over the coming days, you may notice some crusting at the treatment site, as the skin begins to heal. To reduce the chances of scarring, it is vital to let the scab heal on its own, without attempting to remove it.
