What is a skin Skin tag:
Skin tags, also known as “acrochordons” or “cutaneous papilloma”, are benign, non-cancerous skin tumors that hang off the skin by a connecting stalk.
Skin tags can vary in size. Skin tags can be found anywhere on the body & generally a person will have more than one. They are usually non-cancerous but they can also be an indicator of health problems. Very large skin tags may burst under pressure.
Skin tags are composed of a core of fibers and ducts, nerve cells, fat cells, and a covering.
